The comics suggest an awareness about the situation that might not have been there in real life. I do remember losing my school box, that I suspected the bully of taking it, and that after I lent him my GoBot he suddenly found my school box.

The bully didn't confess where he found the box, he just said that he was able to find it and gave it back to me.

It is possible I didn't have anything clever to say about it at the time.
