Mediterranean Dietposted by : Jon Kroupa on 08/07/2011Share Post Immediately coming off the Jenny Craig diet I was excited to learn that I would be allowed to eat enough food so that I didn't feel hungry. Most mornings I had greek yogurt (plain unsweetened) with some fruit added, for lunch I often had a greek salad with pita bread. In the mid afternoon I would snack on some more pita bread, and for dinner I would have cheese, a little meat, and some vegetables. Because I was so hungry from the previous week of Jenny Craig I expected to gain back a little weight, since I was once again eating normal portions. What I didn't expect was that I would gain back 6 pounds, which was 3 more than I had "lost" on Jenny Craig. I was feeling pretty unhappy about that until Saturday. Saturday I hiked Mount Timpanogos, which is a 9 mile hike to the top. I weighed myself before I left and after I returned, and I had completely lost the full 6 pounds gained over the week. Some of this was due to an empty stomach and some dehydration, but even with dinner and snacks later I was still doing alright. Thanks to the hiking my end of the week result was +2 pounds, which means I'm only 1 pound down over a 2 week period. Next week I'll be at a family reunion, so I'm not going to try to do a specific diet (though I am going to try to avoid gaining 40 pounds back). After that I'll probably need an extreme diet to purge myself of all the evils of vacation, so maybe I'll look at the cabbage soup diet.
